On May 24, 2023, we lost the queen of rock and roll, Tina Turner, at age 83. Tina became successful as the front person for the Ike and Tina Turner Revue. By 1969, they were featured on television and had released successful albums. The Revue became an opening act for the Rolling Stones' 1969 tour.
The Ike and Tina Turner Revue ended in the 1970s and there were numerous reports about Tina being subjected to domestic violence. Tina detailed her experiences in her autobiography I, Tina: My Life Story. The book insired the film What's Love Got To Do With It.
In the 1980s, Tina's success as a solo artist was massive and global. Her collaborations with other artists were iconic. Tina also found success in her acting career.
